Met het slechte weer heb ik wat opgezocht. Ik kwam ook op http://fruitforum.wordpress.com
RE: Blackberries
I live in the Sandy part of Flanders, De Kempen, 20 km from Antwerp.
In 1992 I bought Loch Ness and Waldo from Derrek Jennings and a few years later his Adrienne and Helen. The latter is the best of these two. Now I am curious about the winter damage.
Half of the 90's I became Fantasia, with the prickles, but no problem, the lots of very big and tasty berries hang free. They ripen here from half August.
Yesterday with the good wetter I have been cutting the old branches to the ground in small parts that simply will compost on the ground. With glows this is also not a problem.
Fantasia is the biggest wild Blackberry I know. They remember me on the big blackberries of my childhood in West Flanders.
At 21 of this month I come to England and I like to know where Simon Brice has found the new blackberries. My E-mail address: Daniel@willaeys.be http://blog.seniorennet.be
